点在する場所
この部屋にはさまざまな場所が点在しています。
本作は、複数の箇所より集められた日用品から石膏像を作り、部屋の風景として再構成して撮影したものであり、
ひとつの部屋の様でありながらそこには様々な場所が混在しています。
部屋は他者から隔たれ個人的でありながらも、誰もが部屋という空間に身を置いていることから普遍的な視点で語ることができると思います。
複製された石膏像は日用品としての機能は失われ、ただの塊となってしまっておりますが、物に記憶が刻まれる様に
石膏像にもその記憶は写し取られます。
私は制作の過程でこれらの物語の断片を作品に組み合わせていきますが、どれかひとつが他の物語より大切ということはありません。
各々の物語を現実空間の中に同時に存在させることにより、古い物語も新しい物語も等しく提示されているのです。
PLACES AS POINTS
Various places exist sporadically in this room.
For these works, I took everyday objects found and gathered from several places, reproduced them in plaster, then arranged them into scenes in a room and photographed them. One room becomes a space in which various places coexist.
While individual rooms are separate and private, we all live in spaces such as this, so I think we can consider what a room is from a universal perspective.
The reproduced objects have now lost their functions as commodities and have become mere bits of plaster. However, I think that like the real objects, the plaster can also hold memory and history, evoked through the reproduced vestiges of the object’s handling.
In the process of my creation, I aim to incorporate the fragments of these reminiscent narratives into the work, but there is no hierarchical importance among them.
Making each narrative coexist in a real space, in these works, I present the old and new on equal ground.
